After the war ended, Afghanistan continues to face one of the most severe humanitarian crises in its recent history. In 2023, as part of Project Echo (European Commission’s Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid Operations), EMERGENCY NGO invited us to document a unique journey. We followed Francesca and Margherita, two Italian artists traveling across the country to create a graphic novel exploring the challenges of healthcare access for Afghan communities. Through their experiences, we captured a deep, personal reflection on the essence of building peace amidst adversity.
